    About Long Cove Club

In 1982, the same year as Wexford Plantation, Long Cove Club was developed as one of Hilton Head Island’s most elite communities. A smaller neighborhood of only 600 acres, Long Cove has a prime location on Broad Creek across from the Broad Creek Marina. Exclusively a residential, security-enhanced private community, compared to other “resort-oriented” plantations on Hilton Head, Long Cove is a short drive down the William Hilton Parkway and across from the Leamington area at Palmetto Dunes. The neighborhood is known for the Long Cove Club Community Endowment Fund, which raises money to help some of Beaufort County’s non-profit organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Hospice of the Low Country, Volunteers in Medicine and Deep Well.

    Security Features

Long Cove Club offers not only 24-hour security guards at the front gate entrance, but video surveillance as well.

    Long Cove Club: History

1980’s Long Cove Club was still in the planning stages of development by the Hilton Head Company by 1982, at the same time as Wexford. Long Cove Club sold dozens of lots to unhappy Sea Pines residents. Privacy and luxury were the two main ideas behind both Wexford and Long Cove Club, but Long Cove focused more on privacy whereas Wexford emphasized upscale finery. Long Cove’s developers—David Ames, Joseph Webster III, and Weston Willhelm—had each individually served as Sea Pines Resort’s VP and by 1976 they'd grouped together to work on projects in Hilton Head Plantation, Sea Pines, and Forest Beach, as well as beginning Long Cove Club.
