Moving yourself
If you plan to move yourself, here are some handy tips:
- Determine the size of the vehicles you'll need to move. Don't underestimate how much you've accumulated;
- Determine what equipment and supplies you'll need -hand truck, furniture pads, boxes, bubble wrap, tape, etc.
- Reserve the rental truck and other equipment days before your move. Availability can be an issue;
- The cost of renting a truck is determined by the hourly rate, miles driven and other materials rented or purchased if the move is local - less than 50 miles in the same state.
For intrastate moves, more than 50 miles and in the same state, pricing is based on a flat, one-way rate, mileage charge and other materials rented or purchased. Interstate moves are priced on one-way rate, mileage, and other materials rented or purchased.
