Nature Does Not Charge Admission: I have never seen a tree charge admission and there is no ticket collector at the shore line. Islanders can give the morning to the sea, the afternoon to the trees and the evenings to the setting sun. The cost is absolutely free but the reward is breathtaking. Hilton Head Island offers not only miles and miles of shoreline but miles of wilderness to hike as well. A day spent with Mother Nature will only cost you hours but will give you memories that will last forever.
Collect Art: There is no painting that can compare to art carefully crafted by the sea. Islanders understand that the simplicity of searching for sea shells can be therapeutic. The creative can turn what Mother Nature left on the shore line into a masterpiece to be envied. Whether just for collecting or for arts and craft this fun and free activity never gets old and keeps all who take part young at heart.
The Hungry Heart: While Hilton Head Island offers mouthwatering cuisine at some of the country’s best restaurants, those on a budget can enjoy dinner with a view without the cost. Picnics by the sea are quite common on the island. Whether it’s a leisurely lunch or a romantic dinner a picnic is a great way to enjoy seaside cuisine without breaking the bank.
Discover: On a rainy day islanders can visit local museums or take stroll through history in neighboring towns. The island offers a wealth of exploration but without a wealth of cost.
Keep it Simple: Island life is a simple life. Meet new friends on a beach walk. Find a dance partner at a music festival. Join a game in progress on the sandy shores or simply watch as the waves roll in and out. Simplicity, cost efficient and sometimes free, the island life is the life for me.
